This music video has to be mentioned. Cool idea. We’re often pondering how new technologies can and will blend over into the art world. In our lifetimes, video and imaging technologies have really come to the forefront in science, medicine, geography, space exploration and personal interaction. From google earth to laser imaging that gives a better view of our body without radiation to cell phone video on youtube, we are in a new age.
So, it is fascinating to think from the art world, the world of communication, how these things are changing the concept of “motion picture”. This is really pretty awesome. What will be even more interesting is what comes next… when we’ve already used up the “wow factor” for just using the tech.

Hm… colleague and interactive guru, Chris Yale just told me an interesting study he read on online reading / viewing habits.
While surfing and exploring sites, people stop reading at 15 words, whereas they are willing to watch 9 minutes of video. They are more likely to view a YouTube video if it has a short or NO explanation in writing. Like, if we wanted to read, we’d go to school.
I guess I am glad we make motion picture :), but it is a little sad - or at least thought provoking. The written word may be totally on the way out. But… I guess you all stopped reading at the second line of this post anyway…
